Online Giving
Have you ever asked yourself why, if He owns the cattle on a thousands hills as scripture says He does, God asks us to make offerings to Him? If God does not need our offerings, then perhaps the reason we make them is for our benefit and not His.
Perhaps there is no more tangible way to reinforce the idea that God has the number one place in our lives than through the act of giving. In our culture, few of us will be called on to die a martyr’s death for Him. Few of us will be made outcasts, having no way of earning a living, just because we were baptized. When we give away, in the name of God, the very thing we need (money) to get the items we want or need, we exercise faith and put God first.
Giving is the only matter in all of Scripture He encourages us to test Him with. If we do, He promises to pour out a blessing too big for us to handle. That blessing will come in many forms, but the test is not about whether we give money to God or not. The giving is symbolic of whether or not we have given ourselves to Him. So as you make an offering to God via this web site, through the mail, or on Sunday morning, don’t just make it about giving money to the church; make it more about giving yourself to God.
